47-hour Construction HS Trainer Program Requirements
Course Outline
This "Train-the-Trainer" program is designed to help individuals and employers in the construction industry gain the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct occupational safety and health
training. This program will also help you study for the accredited Certified Environmental Safety and
Health Trainer (CET) credential. More information at www.bcsp.org.
Required Courses: 12 (70 hours)
1. 703 Introduction to OSH Training – 6 hours
2. 706 Conducting a Job Hazard Analysis – 6 hours
3. 711 Personal Protective Equipment – 4 hours
4. 721 OSH Training Development – 4 hours
5. 723 Conducting OSH Training – 5 hours
6. 800 Intro to Construction Safety Mgmt. – 6 hours
7. 806 Focus Four Hazards – Falls – 1.5 hours
8. 807 Focus Four Hazards - Caught-In/Between – 1.5 hours
9. 808 Focus Four Hazards - Struck-By – 1.5 hours
10. 809 Focus Four Hazards – Electrocution – 1.5 hours
11. 813 Construction Worksite Safety – 5 hours
12. 850 Health Hazards in Construction – 4 hours
Required Final Exam
The AT must administer a written multiple-choice exam using one of the following options:
1. Administer a 20-question exam after each individual course, or
2. Administer a 60-question exam after completing all required courses for the program
The AT should hold a post-exam discussion to review each question and answer after all students have completed their exam. Students must achieve a 70% score to pass the exam.
